In America The early performing arts accomplishments of young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely place her into the child prodigy category. But for a young Irish girl surrounded with gifted parents and extended family these qualities were normal. Maureen came to this loving refuge on the 17th of August 1920. She was raised by the family of her parents. Marguerita FitzSimons was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based company and was the owner of a portion in "The Shamrock Rovers," an eminent Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons' is the 2nd FitzSimons kid. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen excelled at sports and enjoyed playing rough sports. Her passion was coupled with the natural ability to perform. This was demonstrated by her receiving nearly every Feis award for drama and the stage that her country had to offer. As she reached the age of 14 the Abbey Theater accepted her and let her live her dreams of classical theater and opera singing.
